Filter exclusively stream taster track, ‘Self Inflicted’, via Loudwire.com

The track features onthe US band’s sixth studio albumand Wind-Up/Spinefarm Records’ debut, The Sun Comes Out Tonight, due to be unleashed on June 3rd 2013.

The band has already released first single, ‘What Do You Say’, and ‘Self Inflicted’ is another explosive track from the multi-platinum rockers.

Main-man Richard Patrik says…

“I wanted to try and understand the mass shooter, so I created a character, wrote the lyrics and performed it from the perspective of the shooter… based on the psychology I read that said there was a pattern. For example, an event like Columbine, [looking at it as if] the shooters were the victims and that somehow we or society made them do it — that somehow they were the victims. That this was self-inflicted.”

On the live front, Filter have announced two UK headline shows, the first of which will take place on August 26th at Liquid Rooms, Edinburgh followed by an appearance at Islington O2 Academy, London on August 28th. 2013 UK festival appearances will be announced shortly.
