16.11. London (UK) @ Underworld
17.11. Manchester (UK) @ Roadhouse
18.11. Birmingham (UK) @ Oobleck
An official video for the title track Shake Electric has been revealed today at the following link:http://vevo.ly/Svd66W
The track is also available as an ‘instant grat’ on iTunes album pre-order: http://po.st/SpidersiT
Spiders is fronted by Ann-Sofie Hoyles, a charismatic singer with a haunting, unforgettable voice and striking image; Ann-Sofie has this to say about the title track…
"Shake Electric is about me and my old friends who I had so much fun with, partying until the break of dawn. Tons of memories and emotions from several years went into this song, which has a theme I think most people can identify with. Carolina, the female character in the video, is one of the friends I was inspired by when I wrote 'Shake Electric’, so it was great that she could be in the video!"
Spiders released their debut album, Flashpoint, in 2012, earning them a nomination with P3 Guld – the biggest broadcast music award in Sweden. They've also shared stages with artists such as Metallica, Kvelertak, Blood Ceremony & Graveyard.
For Shake Electric, recorded in the group's hometown of Gothenburg with producer Mattias Glavå, the band built upon the primitive metal-punk hybrid base of their debut, and the result is a fiercely executed, decidedly classic rock, thoroughly turbocharged album with echoes of T-Rex, Ziggy Stardust-era Bowie & Heart.
Choirs, acoustic guitars, piano and various percussion patterns come together to create a stylish sound that is never without a raw and emotive edge. On Shake Electric, Spiders remain both vital and visceral, and you can feel the rush of blood and rock coursing through every song's veins.
On this album, all of the members were involved in the song-writing process, hence the broader, more diverse, multi-dimensional sound…
"We wanted to move on and find new paths," explains John Hoyles, up until now Spiders' sole songwriter. "What we like about many of the records from the 1970s is that they are often heavy yet soft. A really tough riff can be followed by a beautiful piano."
"Even when we started, we were like a bunch of teenagers in the rehearsal room, and despite jobs and girlfriends, we always accepted every show we were offered. We really love this life," continuesAnn-Sofie. "We have a stronger vibe today, and we can really lean on each other in an amazing way. I am very proud of what we have accomplished with Shake Electric..."
Spiders are: Ann-Sofie Hoyles (vocals); John Hoyles (guitar); Olle Griphammar (bass); Ricard Harryson (drums)
‘SILENT SO LONG’ – CD + VINYL - NOVEMBER 3rd
Formed by Rammstein’s Richard Kruspe, EMIGRATE have now set the release date for their new studio album – the follow up to the 2007 self-titled debut, a Top 10 German chart entry.
Titled ‘Silent So Long’, this sophomore outing – produced by EMIGRATE themselves and mixed in Los Angeles by Ben Grosse (Marilyn Manson, Slipknot, Disturbed, etc.) – features 11 brand new recordings, with a lead single / video to be announced shortly…
As with the debut, Kruspe adds to his guitar playing / song-writing duties by stepping up to the mic, only this time he’s joined by a number of guest singers; there’s Lemmyfrom Motörhead, Korn’s Jonathan Davis, Marilyn Manson, Canadian born Berlin-dweller, Peaches, plus Frank Dellé from chart-topping German collective Seeed.
“I didn’t write the songs with specific guests in mind,” explains Kruspe, “I just thought who would do the best job on this or that track, and the final performances were everything I was hoping for. You know, I’ve had about five moments in my music career when I’ve been left smiling like a child – one was when Rammstein sold out New York’s Madison Square Garden in 20 minutes (2010), but the last one was hearing Lemmy on tape. It just sounds f**king great! I wrote him a really long message and he came back “alright!” Fantastic!”
Pre-order ‘Silent So Long’ here: http://po.st/EmSSLcd
For Kruspe, still firmly ensconced within the Rammstein ranks, EMIGRATE has never been a side or a solo project. Preferring to tap into the energy of a team, and looking to revive the collaborative spirit of the East German punk scene he grew from, the guitarist has always put value on those around him, and this time – in addition to the existing personnel of guitarist / producer Olson Involtini and bassist / co-conspiratorArnaud Giroux – he’s joined by drummers Mikko Sirén (Apocalyptica) and Joe Letz(Combichrist).
Whilst ‘EMIGRATE’ saw Kruspe, a restless creative spirit, proving that he could take on a new set of challenges, the follow-up adds fresh layers in terms of invention, emotion and contemporary sheen, with Margaux Bossieux – previously of New York punk band Dirty Mary – providing telling backing vocals throughout; crafted with care inKruspe’sown Berlin studio plus the old radio building on the city’s Nalepa Street, the latter enhanced by an extra control room’s worth of gear(!), ‘Silent So Long’ is another bold step forward, with both music and (English) lyrics showing no desire to be corralled, and Kruspe The Guitarist happy to let rip where the music demands.
With sold-out global tours, headline festival appearances and a succession of platinum albums marking his career with Rammstein, Kruspe could easily opt for a less pressured existence, but ‘resting on laurels’, or the German equivalent, isn’t within his immediate frame of reference…
‘TELLURIAN’, THE SECOND STUDIO ALBUM DUE FOR RELEASE ON NOVEMBER 3rd
IT’S HARD to put a handle on SOEN, but if progressive music is‘entertainment for those who are easily bored’, then this Swedish outfit fits easily under that heading.
As forthcoming / second studio album, ‘Tellurian’, makes plain, SOEN – that’s drummer Martin Lopez (ex-Opeth, Amon Amarth), vocalist Joel Ekelöf (Willowtree), guitarist Joakim Platbarzdis & bassist Stefan Stenberg – are not concerned with the simple or the shallow; their musical journey takes an altogether more ambitious path, and the result is an expansive body of work, wrapped up in the stunning art of Mexican painter José Luis López Galván, that consistently challenges without being ‘clever-clever’ or tough to enjoy.
The melodies are intricate, the playing muscular and the choruses soaring; overall, the feel is one of a band – aided by Christian Andolf on keys – whose intent is very much in synch with the sort of core values (skilled musicianship, emotion over precision, importance of album artwork, etc.) that seem to be back in vogue…
Produced by Platbarzdis (who also played some of the bass), mixed by the legendary / Grammy Award-winning David Bottrill (Tool, SmashingPumpkins, Muse, King Crimson, etc.) and mastered at Bob Ludwig’sGateway set-up in the US, ‘Tellurian’ sees SOEN taking the approach of their‘Cognitive’ debut (2012, Spinefarm Records) and pushing the boundaries in terms of musical scope, the whole thing shot through with the confidence of a band who have found their voice.
Rhythmic, experimental and flowing, and with the ‘muso’ side never taking precedence over a good song and a telling chorus, ‘Tellurian’ (‘relating to, or inhabiting the earth’) will appeal to anyone with an ear for quality playing, and there’s further reward to be had below the surface, with the lyrics taking a more direct route than on ‘Cognitive’, and the construction of the material – including first single / video ‘Tabula Rasa’ (‘Clean Slate’) – allowing room for the raw emotion to shine through.
Music for the head and the heart.
Electric Wizard Premier short film for SadioWitch
Electric Wizard with Witchfinder/Satyr IX Productions have completed work on a short film for new track, ‘SadioWitch’.
The film has been created by the mysterious and alluring Shazzula Vultura, and is thefirst official promo for an Electric Wizard single; ‘SadioWitch’ is the second single to be released from the band’s forthcoming studio album, ‘Time to Die’ (September 30th), following on from the epic ‘I am Nothing’.
According to Wizard vocalist / guitarist Jus Oborn, the footage – captured in various locations, including Iceland – features “Clandestinely filmed scenes of Luciferian depravity” of the kind “long-awaited by the diehard cult of Wizard fans… A visual amalgamation of Kenneth Anger's psychedelic occultism, the monomania of Jess Franco and the unbridled excess of Robert Hartford Davies, documenting fully the pleasures of the flesh, drugs and sadism… as they really happen today…”
Pre-orders for the limited SadioWitch 7-inch, as well as ‘Time to Die’ bundles, are available now via www.electricfuckinwizard.com. Digital pre-orders for the album are available via iTunes here
According to The Guardian, "Lots of bands make claims to be the heaviest of all, but only Electric Wizard really qualify for the title. Masters of crushing doom metal and sinister B-movie kitsch, the British veterans are more popular than ever right now, and new album ‘Time to Die’ looks certain to be their biggest to date. A slow-motion, Sabbathian horror show thrumming with drug-ravaged psychedelic menace and bulging with hypnotic riffs.”
The band previously unveiled a video for ‘I am Nothing’, which can be seen here:http://youtu.be/mDo2Ujb7i3A.
On the live front, Electric Wizard have announced a UK headline show for October 23rd at The Ritz in Manchester.

'MASSIVE ADDICTIVE’ PRE ORDER LAUNCHES TODAY
AMARANTHE have debuted the song "Drop Dead Cynical" from their new album MASSIVE ADDICTIVE, out October 20 on Spinefarm Records. The track premiered via Loudwire today, September 9. It is the first worldwide taste of the Gothenburg band's upcoming opus.
Have a listen to the song in all its majestic glory by going HERE. The song is a perfect indicator of what fans can expect on MASSIVE ADDICTIVE - a full-on blast of melody and metallic power.
Commented guitarist Olof Mörck, "The first piece of music to be released from MASSIVE ADDICTIVE is a very representative track. 'Drop Dead Cynical' is as massive as it is addictive. This ultra-groovy song is a markedly different first single compared to classical AMARANTHE single choices, and it takes our trademark sound in fresh and exciting new directions! Top that off with an anthemic chorus, and the result is what I consider one of the absolutely strongest AMARANTHE songs ever!"
The iTunes pre-order launches today, as well, with "Drop Dead Cynical" offered as an instant grat download.
Additionally, the pre-order includes multiple bundles. The band's U.K. merch store is HERE.

New Studio Album Back To Oblivion Available For Pre-Order On iTunes
The second track, “Anywhere But Here” taken from the forthcoming album Back To Oblivion is now available to stream or purchase as an instant grat track on iTunes; When fans pre-order the album now they will receive “Two Guns To The Temple” and “Anywhere But Here” instantly.
Back to Oblivion will be released on September 29th via Spinefarm Records.
Back to Oblivion marks the return of Finch with the band’s first full length album in over nine years. The Southern California band has undeniably created a lasting, formidable body of work with their two studio albums and EPs - singer Nate Barcalow acknowledges that 2002’s What It Is To Burn all but “defined post-hardcore early in the decade”, while 2005’s Say Hello to Sunshine continued to shape its direction.
The band dignified the demand for a celebration of What It Is To Burn’s 10th anniversary by reforming after a hiatus and playing select sold-out shows across the country in 2013. Inspired by the creative surge brought on by these shows, Finch rendered these contradictions moot with Back to Oblivion, their long-awaited third LP and a new, bold chapter in the band’s legacy.
Back to Oblivion itself is a paradoxical idea. This is Finch reinvigorated, brimming with the inspiration of their earliest days; the opposite of the negation implied by “oblivion.” But as a songwriting unit, they’re challenging themselves by going deep into the unknown - this is by far Finch’s most introspective and demanding work from a lyrical standpoint. The album was produced by Brian Virtue (Deftones, 30 Seconds to Mars, Janes Addiction, Audio Slave).

VON HERTZEN BROTHERS SET TO WORK ON STUDIO ALBUM NUMBER SIX WITH “TOP-OF-THE-LINE” TEAM!
Left – right: Kie Von Hertzen, Mikko Von Hertzen, Garth Richardson, Mikko Kaakkuriniemi, Juha Kuoppala, Jonne Von Hertzen
Von Hertzen Brothers, will release their sixth studio album early next year via Spinefarm Records.
Following the outstanding critical acclaim afforded their last full-length release, ‘Nine Lives’ (2013), the brothers – Mikko, Kie& Jonne Von Hertzen – are now back in the studio doing pre-production, this time with Grammy-nominated Canadian producer Garth ‘GGGarth’ Richardson (Biffy Clyro, Atreyu, Rage Against The Machine, etc.), plus regular drummer Mikko Kaakkuriniemi and keyboard player Juha Kuoppala.
Once pre-production is complete, VHB will head across to Canada where recording will start in September; the studio chosen for the task at hand is The Farm (owned and operated by Richardson) in Vancouver – previously the world-renowned Little Mountain Sound Studio, past home to acts such as Aerosmith, AC/DC, Metallica and The Cult.
Mixing, meanwhile, is set to be handled by Canadian Randy Staub, a Juno Awards-winner whose previous credits include some of the biggest names in rock and metal, the likes of Metallica, Alice In Chains, etc…
Says Garth: “Working with Von Hertzen Brothers is a dream come true. Besides being the coolest people on the planet, they are one of the hardest working bands I know. This is a record that will be on everyone's iPod, phone and turntable. Turn it up loud and get ready to rock. They are going to tear it up!”
Mikko Von Hertzen adds: “For the past five years, we’ve been working hard on building an international set up, and now, with our sixth album on the way, the collective feeling is that we need to up it a gear and just go for it! From the outset, the idea was to find a producer who knows his stuff, is experienced, has a vision, and thus something concrete to offer our music. With Garth, things clicked from the first meeting, and what was really encouraging was his enthusiasm for our new material. Of course, we’re really looking forward to recording in a studio like The Farm – there’s legendary vibes in that place! But it’s even more thrilling to create our music with a top-of-the-line team. Randy Staub is another world class pro who needs no introducing. The work of Randy & Garth simply speaks for itself!”
Further details of this forthcoming record will be revealed in due course.
HEADLINE UK SHOW ANNOUNCED FOR OCTOBER 23RD IN MANCHESTER
ELECTRIC FUCKIN’ WIZARD have revealed a second track from their forthcoming full-length album, ‘TIME TO DIE’, set for release via Spinefarm Records on September 29th.
Titled ‘SadioWitch’ and featuring the line ‘the black drug took my soul away’, the song will be accompanied by a video, currently being edited. Little is known about the clip, although it is believed to feature (encouragingly) both ‘nudity’ & ‘explosions’.
“Sadiowitch is about death by lust and indulgence. As life becomes disillusioning it is reassuring to turn to 'lifes luxuries'…sex and drugs. But, of course, over indulgence leads to emaciation, weakness and death. The song is short and sweet just like this particular form of death. There are many choices but only one outcome. Choose wisely…” – Jus Oborn
A limited edition 7” version of ‘SadioWitch’ is also being planned, with a previously unreleased piece of music on the B-side.
‘TIME TO DIE’ is the eighth full-length offering from the masters of aural punishment, and their first album release since signing a worldwide deal with Spinefarm Records.

WATCH CURRENT VIDEO ‘COFFIN’ HERE
Protest The Hero today release the video for ‘Mist’ – a track from the band’s fourth studio album, ‘Volition’, out now via Spinefarm Records.
Shot in the Canadian province of Newfoundland & Labrador, ‘Mist’ is an 8½ minute mini-movie spotlighting a part of the world that contains some of the band’s most dedicated fans. Newfoundland is not included on most tour itineraries, but repeated visits by Protest The Hero has given birth to one of the Ontario group’s most raucous fan-bases.
Guitarist Luke Hoskin comments:
“Making this video came in two parts. Originally, the plan was to film an ‘Island Tour’. We pestered our friend / promoter Johnny to book us as many shows on the island as possible. Begrudgingly, he dug us up two additional shows to the typical BIG St. John's date. We hauled everything we could in two small minivans, and a gaggle of our wonderful NFLD friends tagged along in a couple of separate vehicles. It felt more like a carnival than a tour – our motorcade invading gas stations and rest stops along the way. It wouldn't have been the same without all those familiar faces to help us at every step. When we were done, though, it felt like something was missing...
“Since the original idea was to film the tour and make the 'Mist' video from all that footage, our job was done right? We were close, but we felt like we had left out the most beautiful part of the island – the island itself! So we returned. And we made sure to capture some of our favourite spots in the St. John's area.
“As expected, we were welcomed with open arms, and the unbridled enthusiasm we have come to expect from this place. It was an amazing feeling to make
a video for the song about the place you love the most. It was even more amazing to fall further in love while shooting. I am constantly reminded of the friendships we have made there, and am ever thankful for the reception we have experienced. There is something truly magnetic about this place – don't go unless you plan on returning many times.”
‘Mist’ is the fifth official video from ‘Volition’, following lyric videos for ‘Clarity’ and ‘A Life Embossed’, plus conceptual videos for ‘Underbite’ & ‘Tilting Against Windmills’.
PTH will continue to tour through to the end of 2014, with headline dates in the UK & Ireland already on sale for November / December; in addition, the band will be playing shows in Australia, South Africa & Europe.
The video for ‘Mist’ is below:-
Gothenburg, Sweden's Amaranthe, known for fusing melodic metal with elements of EDM, will release their third album MASSIVE ADDICTIVE via Spinefarm Records on October 20th.
MASSIVE ADDICTIVE is true to its title. The band's signature, larger-than-life sound, comprised of kinetic riffing, pulsating beats and celestial, melodic choruses, remains intact, but the album finds Amaranthe continuing to explore a range of dynamics and with a willingness to push themselves even further.
The songs that populate MASSIVE ADDICTIVE are so incredibly catchy that they will take up residency in your brain for hours after you've turned the music off, and you will find yourself humming the melodies or singing the choruses long after you've stopped listening to them. MASSIVE ADDICTIVE is that memorable and that catchy.
MASSIVE ADDICTIVE was tracked at Hansen Studios in Ribe, Denmark, with the sound sorcerer Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Epica) at the helm.
The 12-song album is a flawlessly executed clinic of masterfully and carefully crafted modern metal, boasting Olof Mörck's surgically precise riffs and soaring solos alongside Morten Løwe Sørensen's rhythmic thrust and Johan Andreassen's booming low-frequency assault. Elise Ryd's vocals are as emotive and empowering as ever, filling the room, while Jake E's melodic vocals are an outpouring of power. New screamer Henrik Englund Wilhelmsson puts his stamp on the material, as well.
The sound is both massive and addictive, from the unforgettable, driving sounds of "Drop Dead Cynical" to the anthemic title track to the stadium-sized soar of "Digital World" to the emotionally haunting power semi-ballad "True." MASSIVE ADDICTIVE is an exercise in dynamics and is one that refuses to play by any sort of genre-specific, prescribed rules.
"We have lived and breathed this album every hour and every day the last year, and to know that this music is about to reach everyone's ears is beyond exciting," guitarist Mörck enthused about MASSIVE ADDICTIVE. "Following the first leg of The Nexus World Tour, we sat down and agreed that we wanted the next album to be really fresh, new and even to raise a few eyebrows, all while retaining our signature sound."
He continued, "MASSIVE ADDICTIVE is in every way that huge leap forward we wanted to achieve; the album definitely contains our strongest song-writing to date. The press often asks us to 'describe the album in three words'; this time, the answer is simple - it's MASSIVE, it's ADDICTIVE and, most importantly, it's AMARANTHE!"
MASSIVE ADDICTIVE Track-listing
2. "Drop Dead Cynical"
4. "Massive Addictive"
5. "Digital World"
8. "Over and Done"
9. "Danger Zone"
11. "An Ordinary Abnormality"

In addition to this, a brand new video clip for ‘I am Nothing’ has been unleashed via www.ElectricFuckinWizard.com.
EW guitarist / vocalist Jus Oborn has said of the track, which harnesses the dark underground death metal spirit of 1984:-
"It was the year I became a metal-head. It was heavy shit for real – there was no way you were ever going to get a decent job. So I became a Satanist, I dug up a grave, I got into tape-trading, I had a one-man noise/black/death metal band called Regurgitated Guts, and there were loads of documentaries on TV warning us not to listen to the devil's music..."
