KILLING JOKE celebrate their 35th Anniversary in style with the release of a new promo clip for ‘Corporate Elect’.
This track – from latest studio album, ‘MMXII’, released last year through Spinefarm Records – is both the current single plus a taster of the new ‘Singles Collection’ release, out this week, also via Spinefarm.
The video, conceived, filmed & directed by Mikee Goodman, is only the fourth official clip sanctioned by KJ in the past few years, following in the wake of ‘In Excelsis’, the animated ‘European Super State’ & ‘In Cythera’, clips in which the band have barely appeared.
Says Goodman, former frontman with UK outfit SikTh, one half of Primal Rock Rebellion (along with Iron Maiden guitarist, Adrian Smith), and now recording with new set-up, Outpatients:-
“This video has been my biggest creative challenge yet. I had never previously met Jaz Coleman, but I was blown away by the powerful and passionate performance he delivered.
“I did not sleep properly for five weeks. Now I have, I have looked at it again with fresh eyes. And smiled.
“I was honoured to be asked to make a music video for Killing Joke, and so pleased to hear they liked it…”

Killing Joke celebrate their 35th anniversary with ‘The Singles Collection 1979-2012’, a career-spanning compilation covering their ever-evolving story through a series of dark, apocalyptic songs, successfully combining disco and funk and a shamanic wisdom with the dark side of the punk fall-out.
Killing Joke, with their original line-up of Jaz Coleman, Geordie, Youth & Big Paul continuing to hold firm, have now signed a new deal with Spinefarm, and will soon set about recording a third studio album for the label, with Youth once again at the production helm. The release date is likely to be early 2014.

THE UNDISPUTED champions of ‘Swamp Metal’ return to the scene with new studio album, ‘Seventh Swamphony’, the follow-up to 2010’s ‘12 Gauge’ release.
After 15 years together, with six full length albums under their collective belt, 2013 sees the Finnish musicians delivering Album No. 7 – an eight-track release showcasing this Oulu outfit’s trademark frantic, yet melodic death metal style, tempered here by a new-found ‘epic mournfulness’.
Set for release on June 17th 2013 via Spinefarm Records, ‘Seventh Swamphony’ was recorded at Tico-Tico Studios in Kemi, Finland, and features a selection of brand new tracks, including first single ‘Seventh Swamphony’ scheduled for digital release on May 06th.
Antti Kokko, Kalmah's lead guitarist, says:-
"This album marks a milestone in our careers. We have a new keyboard player, which has given a fresh edge to the music, and we are of course very satisfied with the new material. That is why we wanted to give the songs the best possible chance without compromise; we feel very lucky and privileged to have worked with Jens Bogren."
Kalmah (‘From The Grave’ in Karelian) will play Dark River Festival in Finland this summer with more festival and UK touring plans to be announced.

Multi-platinum US rockers FILTER unleash their sixth studio album and Wind-Up/Spinefarm Records debut, The Sun Comes Out Tonight, on June 3rd 2013.
Described as "a combination of grunge heat and industrial ice" by Rolling Stone, few rock groups have so consistently torn up the rule book and ploughed their own path, the music – contemporary, intelligent & unorthodox – topped off by the signature roar of front-man, former Nine Inch Nails associate & band nucleus, Richard Patrick.
Now, in 2013, guitarist Jonny Radtke (ex-Kill Hannah) has joined the ranks as co-conspirator, helping to define the brand new body of work that is The Sun Comes Out… – a glorious industrial rock fusion recorded at Blue Room Studios in Los Angeles with Bob Marlette (Atreyu, Shinedown, Seether) at the production helm.
Since the release of their self-produced debut album, ‘Short Bus’, back in 1995, Filter have carved out a decorated career taking in soundtracks, remixes, hit singles (including breakthrough track ‘Hey Man, Nice Shot’), chart success and record sales in the millions, and The Sun Comes Out… sees the band not just back in the international spotlight but back out on tour, with US dates lined up from late May onwards (the ‘Summerland’ tour).
